1. Who we are
Catalog Booster AI (“Catalog Booster”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a Shopify application operated by Catalog Health, based in Zurich, Switzerland. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect information when you install and use the Catalog Booster AI app through the Shopify App Store.
2. What data we collect
When you install Catalog Booster AI, we collect:
- Your Shopify store domain and access token (required to read and write product data)
- Product content snapshots: titles, descriptions, SEO fields and feature bullets (read-only copies used to generate proposals)
- Brand voice calibration data you provide (tone preferences, style settings, manual overrides)
- Billing and subscription data (processed by Shopify — we do not store payment card information)
- Usage data: scan history, proposal actions, publish and rollback events
3. How we use your data
We use your data solely to:
- Scan your product catalog and generate AI improvement proposals
- Enable rollback by storing snapshots of your original product content
- Calibrate AI generation to match your brand voice
- Track your Catalog Health Score over time
- Provide customer support
We never use your product data to train AI models. We never share your data with other merchants or third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored in a secure, isolated PostgreSQL database scoped exclusively to your shop. Data is hosted on Neon (EU region) and transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS 1.2+). Access is restricted to the Catalog Booster application and authorised personnel only.
5. Data retention
Product snapshots are retained according to your plan: 10 snapshots on Free, rolling 30 days on Core and Growth and indefinite archival on Scale and Agency. When you uninstall the app, we delete your shop data within 48 hours in accordance with Shopify's GDPR webhook requirements.
6. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:
- Anthropic — AI model provider for content generation. Product data is sent to Anthropic's API to generate proposals and is subject to Anthropic's data processing terms.
- Shopify — Platform provider. Billing and authentication are handled by Shopify.
- Neon — Database hosting (EU region).
- Railway — Application hosting.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing
- Data portability

8. Cookies
The Catalog Booster app uses session cookies required for Shopify embedded app authentication. The catalogbooster.com marketing website uses PostHog analytics (privacy-friendly, no cross-site tracking). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active merchants of material changes via the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
